Usage rights vs a likeness license: what is the difference?

Usage rights let a brand reuse content a creator already made. A likeness license lets a brand create new content that depicts the creator, within named limits. A post is a third thing: a specific publication on the creator’s own account. ICONS prices and signs all three separately, so buying one never implies another.

Side by side

Usage rights: existing content, reused. Likeness license: new content depicting the person, for one brand, named assets, channels, territory and dates. Posting: one post, one format, one account the creator owns, a minimum live period.

Why separate them

Bundling hides what was actually agreed. Separate lines make it clear what each party paid for and what they may do with it.

Questions

Does buying a post give me usage rights?

No. Reusing the content elsewhere needs its own license line in the quote.
